WHAT DOES IT DO?


Chemical Peels modify signs of aging, sun damage, and acne. Peels also work to fade age spots and stimulate collagen production in the cells below the surface, softening fine lines and wrinkles. Because chemical peels fight aging and restore youthful skin, we recommend regular monthly peels.

TYPES OF PEELS WE OFFER

We offer a variety of different types of Peels to reach your goals. To get optimal results, we recommend scheduling a peel, and talking with our esthetician so we can full understand your goals.

LIGHT PEEL

    PCA SKIN peels improve skin concerns: acne, hyperpigmentation and aging. These challenging skin concerns are improved with our perfected formulas by increasing the skin’s cell turnover rate, bringing new skin cells to the surface, reducing signs of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and clearing breakouts.

  • AFA Clay Peel, series of 6
    Recommended for sensitive skin with active acne
    Clay Peel is a clinically effective treatment which can play a powerful role in many combination therapy protocols.
  • Glytone Glycolic, series of 6
    Recommended for fine lines, and hydration
    Visibly reduce fine lines, wrinkles and photo-damage while increasing hydration, plumping skin and improving overall texture and tone.
  • Glytone Mandelic, series of 6
    Recommended for sensitive skin, and redness/rosacea prone
    Formulated for redness-prone, sensitive and reactive skin, this peel retexturizes skin and soothes redness for a calm, more even complexion. It reduces mild chrono- or photo-aging and mild hyperpigmented skin while improving overall skin texture and tone
  • Glytone Eye and Lip, series of 4
    Recommended for dark circles, pigment around eyes, and fine lines
    Visibly improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. The Eye and Lip Peel is formulated to significantly increase skin firmness while decreasing the appearance of dark spots and dark circles for a more youthful appearance.

MEDIUM PEEL

AGGRESSIVE PEEL

    Recommended for heavy scarring, pigment

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Your skin may be red for a couple hours following treatment, skin may peel little to none depending on intensity of peel, Anywhere from 2-7 days of peeling is normal.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Depending on what chemical peel, anywhere from 3-6 sessions is best to achieve your desired results.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF CHEMICAL PEELS?

Redness, sensitivity to sunlight ,and peeling.

 

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

One week before peel, patients should avoid these products and/or procedures:

  • Electrolysis
  • Depilatory Creams
  • Waxing
  • Laser Hair Removal

Three days before peels, patients should avoid these products and/or procedures:

  • Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Tretinoin
  • Any products containing retinol, AHA or BHA, or benzoyl peroxide
  • Any exfoliating products or procedures that may be drying or irritating

POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

What to expect immediately after the peel and up to 24 hours afterwards:

  • Skin may feel tight and more red than usual
  • Skin may feel tacky and have a yellow to orange tinge. This is temporary and will fade in a few hours.
  • Patients should wait until bedtime before washing the face.
  • Patients should avoid strenuous exercise starting the day of the procedure and while the skin is peeling.

24 hours after peel and until peeling is complete:

  • Skin may be tight until it starts to peel
  • Peeling will generally start between 48-72 hours after the procedure, and can last 2-5 days. DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN. Allow skin to peel at its own pace.

After Care regimen:

  • Cleanse: Use a gentle, soap free cleanser. Do not scrub and/or use a washcloth while skin is peeling.
  • Moisturizer: While skin is peeling, patients should apply, Vanicream Moisturizing Cream Avene Tolerance crème, Dermal Repair (or ask if you have a moisturizer you may want to use post peel) as often as needed to relieve any dryness and control peeling.
  • Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen daily of a 30 SPF or higher in the morning and throughout the day. Avoid direct sunlight for at least one week.

After Peeling process is complete (3-7 days):

  • Patients may resume the regular use of Retin-A, retinol, AHA products or bleaching creams only after the peeling process is complete.
  • Patients should wait until peeling has completed before having any other facial procedures including: Facials, facial hair removal, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments.

Variations in amount of peeling:

The degree of peeling may vary depending on the individual’s skin type and skin condition at the time of the peel. The success of the peel should not be determined by the amount of peeling, but by the end results that the peel will produce.

Rejuvenize Peel
