FreQuently Asked Questions

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Common Side Effects Include:

Discomfort – Most people will feel some heat-related discomfort (pain) associated with the treatment. This discomfort is usually temporary during the procedure and localized within the treatment area. A small number of patients have reported tenderness in the treatment area lasting up the several weeks.

Redness and Swelling – Laser treatment will cause varying degrees of redness and swelling in the treatment area. These common side effects last from several days to a couple of weeks, depending upon the aggresiveness of the treatment.

Itching – This can occur as part of the normal wound healing process or may occur as part of infection, poor wound healing or contact dermatitis.

Acne or Milia Formation – A flare-up of acne or formation of milia (tiny white bumps or small systs on the skin) may occur. These symptoms usually resolve completely.

Herpes Simplex Reactivation – Herpes Simplex Virus (cold sore) eruption may result in rare cases in a treated area that has previously been infected with the virus. . Please inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores.

WHEN DO THE RESULTS APPEAR, AND HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

Treatment results are both immediate and progressive. A few days after the treatment, your skin will start to feel softer, look brighter, and show more even tone. With each successive treatment, the results will become more noticeable and significant. Results can last for months depending on your age, skin condition, and skin care and protection regimen.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Clear + Brilliant treatments are very gentle and are specifically designed to minimize side effects associated with typical laser treatments. You may experience mild redness and subtle inflammation immediately after treatment. These generally resolve within a few hours, but may last until the following day.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Texture and tone improvements, as well as the best visible improvements, are most often reported after six treatments.
