WHAT DOES IT DO?

Botox/Dysport is a prescription injection to temporarily relax forehead lines, the furrows between the eyebrows, and smile lines. Frown lines are “dynamic”- they happen because of the way a person’s face moves. Botox/Dysport temporarily improves the look of your frown lines by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscles. This results in the reduction of muscle activity to temporarily prevent contraction of the muscles treated. Use of Botox/Dysport won’t change the look of your whole face, and untreated facial muscles will still work normally.

Is it painful?

Most people describe the discomfort as minimal and completely tolerable. We do offer a topical numbing cream though to aid in the discomfort of the injection.

How long will results last?

In most cases it is typical for results to last 3-6 months.

How quickly will I notice visible results?

You will begin to see softening in your wrinkles, frown lines and creases within 3-5 days, with continued improvement for up to 2 weeks of getting injected.

Will I still be able to make facial expressions and muscle movement?

Although a visible result is what is desirable from receiving Botox® or Dysport injections, one does not want to appear frozen or stiff from the procedure. You will still have the ability to move your muscles and make your typical facial expressions. The result – diminished wrinkles and an overall more youthful, expressive appearance.
